Originally known as Trilogy Software, we were founded in 1989 by software developers from Stanford University who were determined to create a better way for large manufacturers to configure and price their products. Early success in the 1990’s with such companies as Sun Microsystems, Ford Motor Company, and IBM came with many patents that were awarded to Trilogy for truly innovative approaches to these previously unsolvable challenges.

As our company grew, Trilogy became known for driving disruptive innovation in multiple industries, reinventing entire markets to unleash business value in entirely new ways. Many of these innovations came in the form of configuration, pricing and quoting software for such industries as automotive, computer hardware, telecommunications, and financial services. Trilogy's story became known through cover features in such publications as Forbes, FORTUNE, the Wall Street Journal and Rolling Stone Magazine.

In 2006, Trilogy acquired enterprise software company Versata. Through the integration, we moved several legacy businesses, including configuration and pricing, under the Versata name. Versata and the Versata CPQ group continue to innovate and serve a growing customer base with the goal of delivering 100% customer success.
